Bentley evidently could not wait for the Americans to see their new Bentayga SUV. So while the car was making its European debut in Frankfurt they sent a unit out to New York. Bentley Bentayga took to the streets of NYC flaunting its completely ordinary looks with the most irrelevant hashtag of all time.
If the Continental GT is anything to go by, America will be the biggest market for Bentley Bentayga SUV. Sure, the car has now finesse to the way it looks, but it has got all it needs to succeed in that market. The size is appropriately huge; there is plenty of bling up front; the interior is sufficiently cozy and spacious, and the cup holders are big enough for supersize cups.
Bentley Bentayga will launch with a W12 engine developing 610 horsepower which gives it a top speed of 300 km/h. Later on there will be diesel and hybrid variants available, but they probably won’t make it to the U.S. market. The Bentayga can have maybe a year of free rein in the market before Rolls-Royce and Maserati come up with their own super deluxe SUVs.
