Following the debut of Koeru SUV at the Frankfort Motor Show, Mazda is now set to reveal another brand-new concept at the upcoming Tokyo Motor Show in November. The new concept is a Mazda Sports Car and it could well be the long-awaited Wankel rotary model we’ve been hearing about eve since the RX-8 died.

Mazda is of course tight-lipped as to the details and specs of the new model. But they have come up with a new slogan for the car, from which you can deduce the model is designed for driving joy. The slogan is “Accelerate toward our dreams”.

Besides the new Mazda Sports Car concept, the car maker will also display at the 2015 Tokyo Motor Show two racing-spec Mazda MX-5s, the fabled 1967 Mazda Cosmo Sport 110S, which is the company’s first rotary powered mass-production model, and of course the Koeru concept.

What sets the Tokyo event apart from most other major motor shows is the special attention paid to the future of transportation with the SMART MOBILITY CITY feature. Mazda’s plans for this part of this year’s show includes showcasing safety technologies such as its innovative human machine interface, omnidirectional sensing concept, and systems developed according to the Mazda Proactive Safety philosophy.
