Cheshire-based boutique car maker BAC announced the launch of a new version of their Mono single seater sports car. Previewed here in these renderings, the BAC Mono Marine Edition is inspired by the yachting world and is designed to fit in a super yacht and even comes with a carbon-fibre crane arm.
With a dry weight of only 580 kg, the super yacht in question will barely notice the presence of the BAC Mono Marine Edition. The idea is that when the yacht owner docked at one of the world’s luxury bays in Monaco or Abu Dhabi or wherever, he’d have a nice track machine to sample the city’s racing circuits with.
Powered by a 2.5 liter 305 horsepower Mountune-tuned engine, BAC Mono Marine Edition features more luxury and style than its normal sibling, and is completely customisable inside and out. It comes with an anti-corrosive coating for components to protect them in ‘salty’ conditions, as BAC says.
The rest of Marine edition BAC Mono appears to be same as the standard model, which begs the question where its maker found the bare-faced cheek to ask for £500,000 for it?
BAC co-founder Ian Briggs started his career in yacht design and says, “I started my career designing luxury yachts and I have wanted to combine my love of marine and automotive design ever since. The Marine Edition Mono represents purpose and style for a clientele that knows no compromise.”
