Just in time for the Los Angeles Auto Show, which is the last major motor show of the year, Honda unveiled the latest iteration of their popular sports coupe based on the Civic. The 2016 Honda Civic Coupe will hit the showrooms in March next year, boasting many “firsts.”

Honda cites the sporty new chassis, a more spacious and quieter cabin, class-leading fuel-economy ratings and targeted top-in-class crash safety ratings as the biggest highlights of the new Honda Civic Coupe. But what the young and fun-loving customers care about is style, performance and equipment. So let’s see how it fares in those aspects.

On the styling front, the new Honda Civic Coupe features the same familiar profile as before, but it features a cool new front fascia with spaceship like headlight/grille combo, and all in all it looks more dynamic. It is also longer and wider which means it has more space inside, but the overhangs have been reduced for an overall smaller footprint. Another cool new touch is the distinctive C-shaped LED taillights across the full length of the rear deck lid.

When it hits the market, the 2016 Honda Civic Coupe will be available with two engine including a new 2.0-liter DOHC i-VTEC with 158 horsepower and 138 lb.-ft. of torque, and a 1.5-liter DOHC direct-injected TURBO with an impressive 174 horsepower and 162 lb.-ft capable of 35 combined mpg. As for the equipment, the car gets significant upgrades to interior style, with soft-touch materials and high-grade finishes. Some of the available new toys include Honda Sensing suite of safety and driver-assistive technologies and both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
