As our readership may be aware by now, we are not huge fans of American muscle cars here at MW. We are in what you can call the Euro camp, fond of more sophisticated, more elegant sports cars. But every once in a while we come across a muscle car that makes us forego all prejudices. This restomod Black Chevelle by Progressive Autosports is one of those.

Up for grabs through Progressive Autosports shop, this one-of-a-kind 70s icon is one of the nicest examples we have ever seen. The best thing about the Black Chevelle is that although it has undergone a full restoration with a fair amount of modern features thrown in for good measure – including a modern engine – it still looks pretty much stock which is fantastic.

We also like the black theme that runs through this car inside and out. The metallic black body is complemented with a black vinyl roof and blacked-out grille and chrome detailing. A nice contrast is made with the sheer blackness of the thing by a set of shiny American Racing wheels which look really good on the car and look as if they were designed for the Chevelle.

A re-trimmed interior with black leather, original dials and a rather hideous steering wheel which is frankly the worst part of the package are among the other highlights of the Black Chevelle. It also comes with a custom stereo system with two subwoofers and a Chevy 502 V8 with a Jet Ram supercharger and sport air filters. We can only imagine how magnificent this unit sounds.
