Hennessey Performance has brought to this year’s SEMA show three new cars with a total of 2,875 Horsepower. At the top of the list we have the 2016 Hennessey Venom GT which, packing 1,451 horsepower, is the biggest contributor to that Record.
The 2016 Hennessey Venom GT is a Spyder version with a removable top and a bright yellow paint job that matches the other two Hennessey products at the 2015 SEMA, including a super fast Mustang Convertible and a VelociRaptor 650 pickup truck.
Powering the 2016 Hennessey Venom GT is the familiar 7.0L twin turbo V-8 engine with E85 Flexfuel capability. It is tuned here to churn out 1,451 bhp which is 207 bhp more than the previous version and enough for a verified top speed of 270.4 mph. The performance figures for this car boggle the mind: 0-60 mph: 2.4 sec; 0-100 mph: 4.4 sec; 0-200 mph: 12.8 sec; ¼ mile: 9.4 sec. @ 167 mph; 0-300 kph: 10.9 sec.; 0-400 kph: 18.1 sec. Theoretically, the new Venom GT can reach 280+ mph.
“We only plan to produce a handful of Venom GT’s in 2016 as we are also preparing for our next evolution, the Venom F5”, said John Hennessey. “We plan to demonstrate our improved power and performance both in terms of straight line acceleration as well as road course handling and lap time performance”.
