As we know from looking at white examples of the 488 GTB, this Ferrari looks astonishingly good in this color. Turns out that is doubly true about the drop-top version, as seen with this Bianco Avus Ferrari 488 Spider, available for sale at Ferrari Cannes.
If you listen to us motoring journos, we will tell you that you should always get the hardtop version of a super car, because the open-top model is not just as fast, is a tad heavier, and has a slight flex to its chassis. But that is us being our pedantic selves. A normal person should always go for the convertible as it’s more dramatic, better to look at, and overall more of an experience to drive.
The Bianco Avus Ferrari 488 Spider, in our opinion, looks a lot cooler than the hardtop. Who cares if it’s minutely less precise handling-wise than the coupe. It gives you access to a million miles of sky and a 3D effect to the exhaust noise. What’s more, the security of a hardtop is only seconds away at the touch of a button. Whichever way you look at it, the Spider is the better option.
Powering the 488 Spider is a 670 horsepower 3902cc turbo-charged V8 engine, capable of dispatching the car from 0 to 100 km/h in 3 seconds flat and from 0 to 200 km/h in 8.7 seconds.
