Italian luxury dealership Car & Car has added a wonderful new limited edition to their collection. It’s a Blu Scozia Ferrari 599 GTO, one of the only 599 hard-core V12 super cars built as the road-going version of the 599XX, finished in one of the most exclusive Ferrari colors ever.
The 599 GTO is a very handsome car even in the plain old Rosso Corsa, Ferrari’s traditional red. But in a unique shade like this, and boasting details like silver mesh grille and gunmetal wheels, this thing becomes just too damn sexy. We would go so far as saying the Blu Scozia Ferrari 599 GTO is the best-looking front-engined Ferrari of the 21st century.
Packing a 670 horsepower version of the GTB’s V12 engine, the Blu Scozia Ferrari 599 GTO is capable of a 0-100 km/h acceleration time of just 3.35 seconds and a top speed of over 335 km/h. The car is lighter and tauter than a GTB, but it has a reputation for being a bit of a handful at the limit. Ferrari purists count that as a good thing, reasoning that a real Ferrari ought be a tad frightening.
The limited edition GTO (Gran Turismo Omologata) went out of production in 2012. These days it is commanding huge price tags and is said to be a safe investment as far as future classics go.
