2016 Geneva Motor Show will see the debut of the production version of the Suzuki Baleno sedan, featuring what they call BOOSTERJET engine which is not what you think, but sounds cool nonetheless. The Baleno looks rather peculiar, but it seems to be a pretty good compact sedan.

To be launched in Europe in June, the 2017 Suzuki Baleno is pitched as boasting “elegant and powerful design, a spacious cabin and luggage space plus a host of new technologies.” That’s all well and good, but if we’re honest it has the kind of design that takes a bit of getting used to. Still, given that it belongs to a class where value for money is foremost quality in the buyer’s mind, that shouldn’t too hard.

Among the main highlights of the Suzuki Baleno there is the  1.0-litre direct-injection turbo BOOSTERJET engine, and 1.2-litre SHVS (Smart Hybrid Vehicle by Suzuki) which features an Integrated Starter Generator (ISG) connected to a Lithium ion Battery, and a new lightweight platform. Suzuki says this combination results in a “fun yet fuel efficient driving experience.” The sedan also comes with the latest technologies in terms of gadgets and gizmos. So all in all, not a bad effort at all.
