More materials came in today on the brand-new and incredibly hot Porsche 911 R, focusing on the car’s back-to-basics philosophy and the kind of old-school fun that entails. Mind you, Porsche subtly hints that the R is far from an un-sophisticated, semi-stripped out racer by placing a satellite in the new promotional clip.
In this clip you see the Porsche 911 R drive in an exuberant manner on some empty desert roads. Does anybody else think NFS: Porsche Unleashed seeing this?
Along with the new promo video Porsche has also released new photos of the R’s interior which is yet another one of the car’s retro-inspired features. There is carbon full bucket seat with fabric centre panels in Pepita tartan design like the one in the 1960s 911 R, GT sport steering wheel, and a cool manual gear shifter. There is also a touch of modernity with the carbon trim pieces, but instead of an infotainment you get a big hole!
And in case you’ve already forgotten, Porsche 911 R is powered by a 500 horsepower flat-six engine and weighs just 1,370 kilograms.
