We’re sure at the time it seemed like a good idea to have a showroom opposite a lake. But that’s a decision Porsche Amsterdam is now regretting, as one of their brand-new, exclusively-specced 991 GT3 RS models fell into that very water.

While the cause of the incident is still unknown, it appears this special Porsche 991 GT3 RS was left in neutral instead of park on display in front of the showroom, and it gradually made its way forward until it fell over the edge and dived nose first into the water. It’s not the end of the world as they quickly pulled the car out, but not quick enough.

This picture was taken of the wounded 991 GT3 RS moments after it fell off and is now being widely circulated over the internet. So everybody knowns about this Porsche now and the dealership may not be able to sell it. Thanks to the unique livery this car will be known from now on as the lake 911. And if it belonged to a customer, well, they may have to bring him another one.
