A unique Bentley Mulsanne belonging to the head of The House of Windsor, the range-topping Royal Queen Elizabeth II, is now on sale on Auto Trader, of all the places. You’d expect the Royal Bentley to be offered in a prestigious auction or something. But no, it’s just in the classified like a second-hand Rover.
At any rate, Elizabeth’s British Green Bentley Mulsanne, prepared exclusively for the Queen at Crewe, has done only 5,000 miles since it was commissioned for Her Majesty’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations, specifically to take her to and from 10 Downing Street. It has served the Royal family for a total of two years, and the advertisers mentions a satellite navigation system that “features Windsor as the home address” as the car’s biggest highlight.
The rest of Queen Elizabeth’s Bentley Mulsanne is pretty ordinary, what with the walnut burr veneered picnic tables, door panels and rear quarter vanity mirrors, embroidered Bentley emblems to all seats, 21-inch classic alloys, full leather interior, air conditioning, driver information system and satellite navigation system. The powertrain, too, is the same 500bhp 6.75-litre engine you get in other Mulsanne models.
This Mulsanne is priced at just under £200,000 and is being sold in the year that the Queen is celebrating her 90th birthday. It must be an expensive party she’s throwing.
