Tesla caused quite a stir in the auto world last month by unveiling a groundbreaking new model that’s supposed to finally make good their promise of mainstream electric motoring. The Tesla Model 3 then went on to become a sales sensation with several thousands pre-orders recorded in a few weeks.
Buoyed by the unexpected success of the Model 3, Tesla is now said to be considering a number of different variants of this model which will follow the sedan in a year or two after its launch. One of the candidates, and one that makes a lot of sense, is what depicted here in this speculative rendering, a Tesla Model 3 Hatchback.
Adding a hatchback variants to the Model 3’s range will not only increases the car’s sale in America by offering a more practical and some would say better looking alternative to the sedan, it’ll also improve the brand’s reputation in Europe where hatchbacks rule supreme. These are enough reasons to have Tesla Model 3 Hatchback on the production line.
So if produced, the hatchback Model 3 is going to look fairly great and also be fairly practically. We just hope they come up with a nicer interior for it as well, because the sedan version doesn’t really have one as such. It’s just a massive touchscreen and a steering wheel, and that’s it.
