It is always very pointless when McLaren sends out press releases on new models that are already sold out, but at the very least these things provide us with new and fresh fantasizing material. The latest of this kind is the limited edition McLaren MSO Carbon Series LT which is basically a carbon-crazed 675LT Spider.

Built by McLaren Special Operations division, the McLaren MSO Carbon Series LT is limited to 25 units for the whole world and as mentioned they are all pre-sold, God knows for how much. These model have 40 percent more carbon fiber in their construction than the standard LongTail and all the carbon on them has a gloss finish which makes the whole thing look pretty darn unique. Apparently this car was inspired by the carbon fibre bodied McLaren P1 they showed off at Geneva earlier this year.

If you want to know where all the new carbon bits are exactly, they are to be found on the front bumper with larger splitter and end plates, front under body, side skirts, side intakes, lower side intakes, rear bodyside lower, rear fenders, rear deck, rear bumper, diffuser and ‘Longtail’ Airbrake, as well as the roof and tonneau, A-pillars, bonnet and rear deck, side blades, complete front and rear wings, and even fuel filler flap.

Mechanically, McLaren MSO Carbon Series LT is the same as the regular LT with a 675PS (666bhp) 3.8 liter bi-turbo V8 engine and the ability to do 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 2.9 seconds and top speed of 326 km/h (203 mph).
