America is not exactly a hot hatch nation. Sure, they appreciate fast cars, but to them size matters mainly because they are themselves pretty sizable people. Now though there is a new Ford which can ignite a hot hatch revolution in the U.S. on account of its massive power and speed. We are, of course, talking about the new Ford Focus RS.
The first customer units of the 2016 Ford Focus RS are now landing in America and this fella you see below, Jackson Gilmore, has been the first one to take delivery. You can tell how genuinely happy, and proud, is he of his new hot hatch as he’s immediately taken it to a Cars & Coffee meeting, an event usually reserved only for exotics and super car.
In many ways, the new Ford Focus RS is like a scaled down muscle car. It offers a huge bang for your buck with 350 horsepower and a starting price of $36,605, it’s cheap to run, it’s fun to drive, and if you push it, it can do 0 to 60 in 4.7 seconds and reach 165 mph. Granted, it doesn’t have the visual drama of a muscle car, but what it can is make you look like a hero as it comes with a dedicated drift button.
