We thought it was not possible for Mecum Auction’s Moneterey event to become even more awesome after seeing this green P1, this purple Vulcan, and this pristine CGT. But it just has, as a matte black LaFerrari – or Nero DS Opaco in Ferrari parlance – joins the lineup.
What you are looking at here, ladies and gents, is the world’s uniquest, meanest, and coolest Ferrari LaFerrari. It is one of only three matte black LaFerrari models finished in Nero DS Opaco paint from the factory, and it has a unique interior with black leather seats and red garnish, and a “CAVALLO INFERNALE” badge on the steering wheels which, again in Ferrari parlance, means a prancing horse from hell—a reference to the innate meanness of this car.
We cannot believe the guy who ordered this matte black LaFerrari from the factory never drove it anywhere, as it has only 211 original miles on the clock. The sad thing is the Nero DS Opaco will probably be bought by some other collector when it crosses the auction block next month and will spend another few years locked away in a garage until it appreciate enough for the buyer to auction if off again. Chances are we will never see this thing out in the open.
