Yesterday we told you about a sweet Ferrari Daytona crossing the auction block at Mecum Auctions’ Dallas sales in early November. While you are there bidding on the Daytona you may also want to take a look at this, an incredibly rare 1996 Porsche 911 GT2 EVO which is going to be the star of the event.

The GT2 EVO is going to be a star on account of its rarity – it is one of only 11 ever made in this specs – and because it has only 7000 kilometers on the clock, so it’s virtually brand-new. These qualities are also why the Porsche 911 GT2 EVO is estimated at a mind-bogging $1,250,000 – $1,750,000. And you can’t even drive it on the streets. The EVO is a racing car originally built to compete in FIA GT1.

But that’s beside the point. Man people will be ready to bid on this bad boy just because of the way it looks. The 1996 Porsche 911 GT2 EVO has all the good bits of the 993, the GT2, the RSR, and a whole other desirable 911 model all in one neat package. It has the large bumpers, the flared wheel arches, the massive aero parts and gold BBS wheels. And above all it has a twin turbocharged 3.6L flat-6 engine with 600 HP and 490 ft/lbs torque operated through a 6-speed manual gearbox.

Now that explains why this EVO has only 7K on the odometer. Apart from the fact that it’s a racing machine, you need to be a superhero to properly drive a 600 hp Turbo 993 Porsche with a manual gearbox. And even then a part of you is fully aware of the price tag. So you decide you best leave the thing in the garage.
