Ford Performance Kit 600x413 at Ford Performance Power Packages for the Mustang

Ford’s in-house performance arm, simply called Ford Performance, announced the launch a series of a new power packages covering Mustang EcoBoost and Mustang GT models. Apparently anyone can buy these packages and set about upgrading their Mustang, which sounds like a recipe for disaster, even though the kits maintain the vehicle’s warranty.

In any case, the Ford Performance Power Package for the Mustang GT’s 5.0 liter V8 engine comes in three versions consisting of a unique performance calibration and high-flow air filter. The first one with just those mods gives you an extra 13 horsepower and 16 lb.-ft. of torque. The second mode with a cold air intake, 87-millimeter throttle body, and intake adapter from Shelby as well as a larger open air filter dials the gain up to 21 horsepower and 24 lb.-ft., and as for the third, it tricks out the software to deliver an extra 37 horsepower.

The owners of the EcoBoost Mustang can enjoy a Ford Performance calibration kit for the 2.3-liter EcoBoost engine boosts peak torque 70 lb.-ft. for a total of 390 lb.-ft. of torque, along with a peak 25 horsepower gain for a total of 335 horsepower. EcoBoost performance calibration kit and Mustang GT power packages are available for both manual and automatic transmission-equipped Mustangs.
