Well, we have all been waiting for the new Lexus LC 500 deluxe coupe to become available, but now that it has we are a bit disappointed because the thing is pretty dear. The regular V8 petrol version of the LC is priced at $92,000 and the hybrid V6 at $96,510. And then there are the optional packages.
Lexus says their high-end coupe is still cheaper than the German rivals boasting a sub-100K price tag. But we all know that MSRP is more often than not nonsense and by the time the vehicle reaches the showroom the dealers have added a few thousand dollars to its price for themselves. But regardless, 2018 Lexus LC 500 comes with some juicy, expensive options that when you are done speccing up the car with them the bill will be way over $100K anyway.
Before we get to the optional packages let’s first quickly review the standard kit on the 2018 Lexus LC 500. The regular model comes with a 470 hp normally aspirated 5.0-liter V8 while the hybrid boasts a 354 horsepower V6. The equipment highlight meanwhile includes ultra-compact triple projector LED headlamps, arrowhead daytime running lights (DRL), triple-projector headlamps to create the next-generation Lexus lamp signature, three-dimensional rear lamp, Drive Mode Select, paddle shifters, next-generation Remote Touch Interface with touchpad, Lexus Premium Audio, and a color 10.3 inch TFT multi-information display, plus Lexus Safety System+.
The best of the options list for the sexy LC include 20” and 21” forged wheels, Mark Levinson audio system, Limited Slip Differential (LSD), Blind Spot Monitor (BSM), Intuitive Park Assist (IPA), Heads-Up Display (HUD) and Cold Area Package, which includes heated steering wheel and windshield de-icer. To get them you have to pick the appropriate packages including Touring and Sport (up to $4K), Sport Carbon (up to $7K), Performance Carbon (up to $10K).
