Ford GT Delivers Highest Top Speed 600x399 at Ford GT Performance Figures Confirmed

Every time we think the new Ford GT has ran out of pleasant surprises the Blue Oval reveals new things about it that make us clutch feverishly at our intimate parts and half die with desire. A while ago they announced doubling the GT’s production, and now they have confirmed the car’s power and performance numbers.

And if you were enchanted by the looks of the 2017 Ford GT, you are going to be paralyzed – with joy – when you hear about the kind of power it makes and the kind of speeds this thing can achieve. Turns out the positively tiny – relative to other engines in this segment – 3.5 liter Ecoboost V6 is a veritable power house, pumping out 647 horsepower and 550 lb.-ft. of torque. Since that power has to lug about only 1,400 kg, the performance, as you would expect, is mind-bending.

Ford GT achieves top speed of 216 mph 600x338 at Ford GT Performance Figures Confirmed

Boasting a power-to-weight ratio is 2.14 kg per horsepower in U.S. specification, the new Ford GT beats two of its main rivals, McLaren 675LT and Ferrari 458 Speciale, around the race track. Granted, the track they tested the car on was Calabogie Motorsports Park in Canada which is a place no one has ever heard of. But the fact remains the GT was a full second quicker than the McLaren and a massive three seconds quicker than the Ferrari. The American car also has a top speed of 216 mph which makes it as fast as an Aventador SV.
