If the new BMW 7 Series is just a tad too push for you, the S-Class Mercedes a bit too obvious, and Jaguar XJ just not there yet, well good news because there is a new player in the niche market of luxury saloons with a hint of sportiness. The new 2018 Lexus LS 500 F SPORT, set for global debut at the New York Auto Show, is a unique and pretty sexy saloon with serious sporting credentials.
The big Japanese sedan comes with a 3.5-liter V6 engine hybrid specifically built for the new 2018 LS 500 with 415 horsepower and 442 lb-ft of torque, paired with the first-ever 10-speed automatic transmission in luxury sedan. The drivetrain is complemented with Vehicle Dynamics Integrated Management (VDIM) consisting of braking, steering, powertrain, and suspension calibrations tailored for spirited driving.
But the F Sport treatment has always been more about the aesthetics, and 2018 Lexus LS 500 F SPORT doesn’t disappoint in that aspect. Besides 20 inch polished rims, the car comes with bespoke front grille, rocker panel, and trunk moldings plus F SPORT badging on fenders. Inside, you get F SPORT-exclusive front seat, which provides enhanced support for dynamic driving. A perforated-grille pattern on seating surfaces and unique scored aluminum trim elements add additional sporty flair, as does a speedometer and tachometer in a movable meter with a ring that slides to display information just like the LFA supercar!
