The refreshingly different crossover which took the market by storm last year now receives a special treatment to make it even more appealing to the buyers tired of the traditional compact SUV’s boring recipe. The 2018 SEAT Ateca FR is a lively creature with more power and more style than its run-of-the-mill siblings. 

On the styling front SEAT Ateca FR comes with 18-inch ‘Performance’ alloy wheels (19-inch machined optional), body coloured wheelarches and side skirts with an aluminium moulding, FR bumpers roof rails and window frames in black, gloss black grille, and a host FR badges. Interior highlights include aluminium door strips complete with FR logo, multi-function, leather sports steering wheel with gloss black accents, and red stitching on the steering wheel, seats and gear lever gaiter.

As for the technical details, SEAT Ateca FR can be had with a range of EU6 petrol and diesel engines, ranging in power from 150PS to 190PS, including a new 2.0 TSI 190 unit. You also have your choice of manual or DSG-auto transmissions, but the 2.0 TDI model comes only as front-wheel-drive and the 2.0 TSI. DCC (Dynamic Chassis Control) and progressive steering are optional. Ateca FR sits in the range above S, SE and SE Technology but below XCLLENCE. Pricing will be announced closer to the May launch in Barcelona.
