Even though they are basically Volkswagen’s underneath, SEAT’s hatchbacks has a charm and character all their own and that’s the reason many people prefer them to the rivals from European and Korean manufacturers. The new 2017 SEAT Ibiza takes this uniqueness to a higher level and blends it with refinement and sophisticated technologies.

The 2017 SEAT Ibiza is built on VW’s MQB A0 platform which not only has enormous benefits in terms of comfort and space and practicality, it also enhances the driving feel of the Ibiza and makes the hot hatch more of a driver’s car:

But being dynamic is only part of what makes the 2017 SEAT Ibiza tick. The car is still a family-oriented hatchback with a boot volume of 355 litres, which is 63 litres more than the previous generation andthe largest boot in its segment. A good amount of technology features are also included in the standard kit, namely an 8 inch integrated touchscreen, wireless charger with GSM signal amplifier, and safety gear such as Front Assist, Traffic Jam Assist and ACC adaptive cruise control, among others.

Engine-wise, there are three aluminium block and cylinder petrol engines to choose from. The first option is the three-cylinder 1.0 TSI with 95 or 115PS, along with a turbo-compressor, intercooler and direct injection. A new EVO 1.5 TSI unit will also be available in late 2017 with four cylinders and 150PS. Efficient 1.6 TDI diesel engines will come in 80 and 95PS guises in the UK. The gearboxes available are a manual five-speed transmission for the 95PS and lower engines and a six-speed transmission for the more powerful engines. A seven-speed dual-clutch DSG-auto gearbox will also be available.
