First Honda Civic Type R in U.S. Raises $200K for Charity

Type R charity 600x344 at First Honda Civic Type R in U.S. Raises $200K for Charity

As you may be aware from our previous post on this, the very first production 2017 Honda Civic Type R to hit the Land of the Free was auctioned for charity. The results are in now, and the little hot hatch, something the majority of the Yanks don’t even like, managed to bring in the goodly sum of $200,000.

The auction took place on Bring a Trailer website which made it easier and more fun for people to bid. The sale price was remarkable when you consider that at the showroom the Type R costs under $40K. It was the noble cause behind this auction that drove the price up. All of the 200 grand proceeds from the sale of first American Honda Civic Type R will go to one of Honda’s favorite institutes to support, the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation.

“We thought it would be fun to offer one lucky customer a shot at owning the first of its kind in America while benefitting the leading nonprofit solely dedicated to finding a cure for childhood brain tumors, the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation,” said Jeff Conrad, Senior Vice President at American Honda Motor Co.
