The new generation Chevrolet Corvette, for which Chevrolet revived the legendary Stingray badge, will launch as a coupe, and then later on gets a convertible and a high performance Z07 version. Here’s your first look at the convertible version.
Usually it would take a couple of months for a single picture of the drop-top version to emerge, but this new Corvette Stingray is so hot that while the coupe version is still on display at the Detroit Motor Show, the first pictures of its convertible version leak on the web.
The source is adamant these pictures are genuine and not just some rendering nonsense. If that’s true, the convertible Corvette will be a more elegant prospect than the sporty coupe. When you lose the roof, you turn the car into a cruiser and don’t have to worry about performance that much. That is why the convertible seems to have no spoilers, and rides on smaller wheels. We actually like it better than the hardtop!
We are waiting to hear from Chevrolet about these pictures, but they seem legit.
