Corvette Singray Convertible Leaked 21 545x320 at Corvette Stingray Convertible Set for Geneva Debut

The convertible version of the new Corvette Stingray leaked onto the web only a few days after the hardtop made its debut at the Detroit Motor Show. So since there is nothing to hide on that front, Chevrolet is apparently going to unveil the convertible at the Geneva Motor Show in March.

Usually it would take much longer than that, but sources are saying the Corvette Convertible can go on sale before the end of 2013. That might stop some people from placing an order for the standard version. They may want to wait and check out the Convertible first. That said, seeing as the normal ‘vette has a removable top, the full-on convertible version has never been that popular.

Technically, the Convertible will be the same as the Stingray coupe, with a 450 horsepower V8 engine, and the choice of a manual or an automatic transmission. Visually, though, there will be more changes besides the fabric roof.

The Stingray Convertible will have a slightly revised front fascia and no spoiler at the back. It’ll look a bit less aggressive than than the coupe.
