The concept cars set for debut at the 2014 Detroit Motor Show (NAIAS) are being gradually revealed one by one. We’ve already looked at what Kia is bringing to the party. Now here’s what Infiniti is proposing, a very special version of their Q50 sedan, called the Eau Rouge.

They just released the first image of the car along with some initial details to get out engines revving. The Infiniti Q50 Eau Rouge is inspired in its design by the four-time Formula One World Champions Infiniti Red Bull Racing car. It features improved aerodynamic over the standard Q50, brought on by new carbon fiber parts.

In facts the modifications are so deep that the only parts the Eau Rouge shares with the standard Q50 are the roof and door profiles. The rest of the exterior, including carbon fibre front splitter, rear diffuser and side sill skirts; carbon fibre roof and door mirror casings; 21-inch lightweight forged alloy wheels and a dual-exit exhaust sports system below a large integrated rear spoiler are all bespoke to this car.

The Infiniti Q50 Eau Rouge concept is mainly a study in complex carbon composite bodywork. They have not revealed yet if the car also features any mechanical upgrades. But we shall find out soon enough, what with NAIAS being just around the corner.
