Luxury car dealership The Collection in Florida was the scene of some pretty awesome things yesterday. After unveiling the new McLaren 570S to their customers, they have now got the mac daddy of all McLarens at their showroom, the 2 million GBP, track-only McLaren P1 GTR.
This, if we’re not mistaken, is the first time we get to see the McLaren P1 GTR up close and personal outside motor shows. These live shots lets you appreciate the beauty of that racing aero kit and also contemplate its function. That massive front splitter with its little winglets, those skirts, and the new rear diffuser/wing combination make the GTR an absolute beast on the race track.
Not that most McLaren P1 GTR buyers give a hoot about that. In the same way that they found a way to convert the F1 GTRs to road cars, just because they liked the looks of that car and wanted to show it off to other road users, a road-going P1 GTR is already being planned to homologate this racing machines for road use. Imagine seeing this thing in your rear view mirror… not that you can of course, because it’s so low!
