Turns out rendering artist X-Tomi Design is a huge Camaro fan. He hasn’t been able to take his hands off the car since GM revealed the new 2016 Camaro. He first showed us what the new Camaro looks like as a Convertible. Now he’s come up with a rendering of the next Camaro Z/28, due in two years as a 2018 model.

Well, truth be told it is too soon to start speculating about the next Camaro Z/28 because Chevy may decide not to make it, the same way they are probably not going to make a new Corvette ZR1. But in case they do make a Z/28, chances are it will looks very similar to what you see here in this picture, but hopefully not in this ghastly shade of green.

The current Camaro Z/28 features, compared to the SS version, a pretty aggressive aero kit with a large front splitter and a chunky rear diffuser plus a sizable rear wing. Tomi has toned down that kit a bit for the Gen Six, but it still looks pretty prominent. We are particularly digging those flared wheel arches.

The next Camaro Z/28 should logically get at least 550 horsepower, since the 2016 Camaro SS comes with 455 horsepower which is as near as makes no difference fifty more than the previous generation. The Z/28 is pitched as the ‘sports’ version of the American muscle car and it has been fairly good at its intended role, going round Nurburgring faster than a Porsche Turbo.
