That’s right, Chevrolet has come up with yet another special edition Silverado. At this point each one of these pickup trucks that leaves the factory is special in one way or another. The latest is called Chevrolet Silverado Rally Edition and they made a lot of hoopla unveiling it.

They in fact took to Texas Motor Speedway to bring out the new 2016 Chevrolet Silverado Rally Edition, and they even enlisted the services of NASCAR legend Dale Earnhardt, Jr. to promote the truck. At the event Earnhardt joined Austin Dillon who was charged with the job of making the Silverado Realtree Edition look more interesting and Kyle Larson who’d got the Silverado 1500 Midnight Edition and Kasey Kahne with the Silverado 2500 Midnight Edition.

As for what makes Chevrolet Silverado Rally Edition special, the main highlights include monochromatic exterior with black accents, bold hood and body-side stripes, and black wheels in 20- or 22-inch sizes. Sadly, this model doesn’t get the Z71 off-road equipment package which you get with the Midnight model. But hey, it does come in a cool shade of red.

“We introduced several special editions in 2015 – each combining equipment and appearance packages designed for specific enthusiasts in mind,” said Sandor Piszar, Chevrolet truck marketing director. They clearly resonated with buyers, selling in one-third the time – and attracting new, younger, and more affluent buyers to the brand – than the industry average. They also helped make Chevrolet the fastest-growing truck brand in the industry,” Piszar continued. “In 2015, total Chevrolet truck sales increased 27 percent – double the increase for the total truck market. As we expand our lineup of special editions for 2016, we expect to continue that momentum.”
