To be completely honest, it is kind of hard getting excited about the debut of a regular, family car what with all the exciting stuff super and sports car makers bring to major motor shows. But that’s not the case with Mazda. Their products have a certain charm that makes us await the arrival of a new model with a fair amount of giddiness. And speaking of new models, there is a new Mazda CX-5 in the pipeline.

The new crossover is set for global debut at the next Los Angeles Motor Show, revealing, according to the manufacturer, a bold new take on the famous KODO – Soul of Motion design philosophy. While the teaser image they have released to accompany this announcement does not reveal much, one can tell the new Mazda CX-5 has a very fluid, very distinctive design that is remarkably and refreshingly different than the established norm in this class. We also like how the wheels are oversized relative to the body, but that could only be for the show.

Stay tuned for more on the 2017 Mazda CX-5 in the run up to the Los Angeles Auto Show on November 16.
