The all-new Chevrolet Aveo5 is now on sale in showrooms across the Middle East, featuring sporty new looks, and a dynamic driving experience in a stylish, value-packed package. Customized car aficionados now have several options to personalize their Aveo5 and make it stand out from the crowd.
“The Aveo5 is a funky small car that is fun to drive and boasts excellent value. With its surprisingly roomy interior, ‘the best-in-class rear legroom’ and extremely striking exterior, the Aveo5 feels great when driving,” commented Karen Toor, Marketing Manager of Chevrolet Cars in the Middle East.
She added: “We understand some people might want to build on that wonderful package, and there are several options for them to choose from while doing so.”
The best source for customization options for the Aveo5 is your local authorized Chevrolet dealer. However, if one can’t find anything that suits his/her style, they can call our CCC at 8004432 for UAE, 800 8971471 for KSA, 484 69 06 for Kuwait or +97143143465 from any country in the Middle East and we’ll put him/her in touch with our Aveo5 “Totally Street customization experts”.
Mods can range from the simple fitting of alloy wheels, tinting car windows and applying stick on decals moving on to more complicated fittings of front bumper kits, side skirts, rear wings, spoilers, and hood and roof scoops. Some will even opt for a customized paint job that guarantees their car will be the brightest thing on the road!
But it does not stop there; even when it comes to interior customization, the possibilities are numerous: funky-colored bucket seats, sporty steering wheels and gear levers, as well as instrument gages and aluminum pedals. And what car is complete without ICE’ing on the top? ICE (In Car Entertainment) can make a drive to college seem more like a rock concert, or a rave and the Aveo5 is certainly equipped to accommodate these add-ons.
One can dream up all sorts of modifications to suit his style and reflect his personality, and the sky is the limit when one has a blank, signed check. Closer to the real world, this is what 15,000 extra Dirhams can do to your Aveo5, as kitted by Bin Hamoodah Automotive of Abu Dhabi.
For inspiration, one can visit www.totallystreet.com, where Chevrolet is running a customization competition. Demonstrate your creativity by customizing an Aveo5 online, and start the voting. The three entrants with the most votes win real customized Aveo5s. The contest ends January 31, 2009.
Like all Chevrolets, the new Aveo5 stands out by offering expressive styling, excellent value for money, and advanced safety features. As a successor, the incoming model has evolved and was completely reworked into a sportier and more dynamic interpretation of the compact hatchback. A new variant added to the existing Aveo family, the Aveo5 was designed and engineered with young and first time buyers in mind.
The Aveo5 is powered by a 1.4 litre engine, which delivers 103 hp (net) @ 6200 rpm and a maximum torque of 130 Nm (net) at 3400 rpm and it is available with either the 4-speed automatic or 5-speed manual transmission. The manual transmission version of the Aveo5 consumes an average between city and highway driving of 6.8 liters of fuel every 100 Km while the automatic version uses 7.1 liters per 100 Km.
The Aveo5 is surprisingly roomy considering it has with an exterior length of only 3.92 metres and a small turning radius of 5 m. With a height of 1.51 metres and a wheelbase of 2.48 metres, there is plenty of space inside this five- seater. The average headroom (front and rear) is 978 millimetres and the ‘best-in-class’ rear legroom is 889 millimeters. The luggage compartment has a capacity of 220 litres. If more room is needed, the rear bench can be easily folded down increasing loading space to 980 litres.
‘Plenty of car and equipment at a fair price’ is part of Chevrolet’s philosophy and this certainly applies to the new Aveo5. Available in two trims LS and LT, all Aveo5 models come with many safety and comfort features, including driver and passenger airbags, MP3 capable CD/radio with auxiliary inputs, and windscreen wipers with variable intermittent wipe. The higher equipment level of the LS includes additional features such as tinted glass and front power windows as standard. Options for the Aveo LS include 15-inch aluminum wheels, on-board computer, remote keyless entry and an interior beige trim.
