Four days of intense competition come to an end as UAE football star Fahed Massoud is surprise guest at awards presentation.

Dubai, United Arab Emirates –The Chevrolet Urban Challenge Event and the Exclusive Urban Car Show hosted over 9,000 of youthsters in Abu Dhabi’s Marina over the weekend and the winners were announced at a thrilling award ceremony which brought four days of intense competition, close rivalry and car-fuelled excitement to a close.
The Chevrolet Urban Challenge saw 60 teams of 15 – 25 year-old boys and girls competing across four different disciplines between 29th April and 2nd May: 5-a-side football, basketball, karting, and gaming. The challenge, based on a point system with knock out rounds, was taken by storm as the ‘Palestinians’ team beat their fierce rivals ‘Street Society’ in the final to win the coveted first prize.

The 2010 Chevrolet Camaro was on display for the first time in the Middle East alongside with the 2010 Chevrolet Cruze. In addition, a classic 1973 Camaro was on display to evoke memories of the good old days.
The 1st of May brought a further dose of excitement as the exclusive and accessorised Urban Car Show contest rolled in alongside the Urban Challenge. The Corvette UAE Club exhibited their most prized assets and 1940’s Chevrolet SUVs testified to the brands heritage, while eager participants showed off their modified Chevrolet, GMC, HUMMER and Cadillac cars and SUVs. Fifteen fresh and funky designs were submitted to compete under two categories – “IN-Style” for in-car entertainment, bespoke seating and add on accessories and “OUT-Fit”, for body kits, rims, paint jobs, graphics and spoilers. Two winners were crowned: Cadillac Escalade in blue and purple owned by Ali Thani Ali won the “Out-Fit” category, whereas Chevrolet Astro in candy red with silver and black flame owned by Fahad Abdulla Murshid won the “IN-Style” category . The overall winner of Chevrolet’s ‘Totally Street’ Aveo5 online car customisation competition was also announced.
Moreover, in support of the 34th Arab Deaf Week, Chevrolet Urban Challenge hosted students from the Hearing Disability Centre- Zayed Higher Organisation on Wednesday 29th April. The students competed against each other in karting and also had the chance to test drive some of the Chevrolet vehicles on display.
