As you have read here in recent days Toyota priced the new Land Cruiser and Hyundai did the same about the updated 2010 Santa Fe. Now it’s the turn of Honda to reveal details of the 2010 updated CR-V crossover which goes on sale in January 2010 as the main rival of those two. Visual changes are subtle, but the car gets an all-new diesel engine for the new year and comes with a long list of standard and optional features.
The 2.2-liter i-DTEC diesel engine which is also used in the Accord sedan, develops 150 hp and 350Nm of torque and that translates into 0-62mph sprint time of 9.6 seconds and 118mph top speed. On the upside it is very economical averaging 34.4mpg (manual) 33.6mpg (auto).
The i-DTEC engine uses a combination of the latest injection technology, more efficient exhaust gas recirculation and a diesel particulate filter to create a diesel engine that’s quieter and smoother. With significantly-reduced levels of NOx and particulates emissions, it is Euro 5 compliant, and emits CO2 emissions of 171g/km (manual) and 195g/km (auto).
As for the equipments, the standard features you get in the basic SE model include newly-designed 17-inch alloy wheels, air conditioning, auxiliary socket, cloth upholstery and power-heated door mirrors. While in the mid-range ES trim level things like 18-inch 10-spoke alloy wheels, auto-dimming mirror, cruise control, double-deck cargo space, electric folding mirrors, half leather and Alcantara heated seats, headlight washers, front fog lights, leather steering wheel and gear knob, rear parking sensors, unique interior inlay trims and USB connector for an iPod are added to the list.
And then in the top of the line EX model which is recognized by full body-coloured bumpers there’s much more luxury with DVD voice-activated satellite navigation with premium audio and subwoofer, full leather upholstery with front heated seats, HID Xenon headlights and auto headlight on function, panoramic roof, rain sensor, reverse tilt mirror and 8-way driver power seat.
