A couple of days ago Peugeot announced that 2010 308 CC is getting an all-new HDi diesel engine, and now they are graciously offering a new one! This time it’s a petrol unit, a 1.6 liter turbocharged with 156 bhp and 240 nm of torque which replaces the old 140 hp engine. It also fully complies with Euro5 standards.

Equipped with a new “AT6” 6-speed automatic gearbox, this engine can take the car from 0 to 60 in 9,8 seconds while returning average fuel consumption of 36.6 mpg and Co2 emissions of just 179 g/Km.

The chosen gearbox gear ratios ensure good responsiveness when pulling away, excellent continuity when accelerating thanks to the smoothness of the gear changes and an all-round ease of use linked to optimisation of the engine’s torque range, which is particularly generous in this respect. The gearbox control system management of all the six gears optimises fuel consumption as the user is able to drive more often at low engine speeds, while the high ratio sixth gear optimises fuel consumption and engine noise levels on motorways.
