As you know the production of the Pagani Zonda has come to an end. Well, they keep making one-off special editions, but the point is next year it’ll be replaced by an all-new model allegedly called the C9. The owner of the company Horacio Pagani has confirmed some of the details of the new model, and based on them the C9 is going to be awesome!

According to Autocar, the first and most significant technical change in Pagani Zonda C9 is the engine, where instead of the old 7.3 liter they will be using the much newer 6.0 liter V12 bi-turbo unit from the SL65 AMG Black Series. The main reason for this change is emission regulations. As we’ve seen with MKB’s SL Black, this engine is capable of producing over 1000 hp, but apparently for the C9 it will clocked at around 700 hp but the torque will be in the neighborhood of 1000 Nm.

This enormous torque gives an astonishing acceleration to the large and hefty Mercedes’, so God knows how it’ll act in the lightweight Pagani. And it will be lightweight because large parts of this car will be made from carbotanium, which is a blend of carbon fiber and titnium, both quite expensive but both very light and very rigid as well.

Speaking of the price, this hypercar is said to have a price tag of well over $1 million. Of course with cars like these there’s always a lot of customizations and personalization going on which will affect the final price greatly.

Pagani C9 is set for debut at next year’s Geneva Motor Show.
