Chevrolet announced that one of their hottest premieres at the upcoming Paris Motor Show will be the new edition of Captiva Crossover. The new car comes with a fresh look at front which is based on the new design language that also created the 2011 Aveo. It also has enhanced interior with great quality for the used materials and a new powerful and efficient engine line-up accompanied by manual and automatic six-speed transmissions and front or all-wheel-drive.

2011 Captiva’s interior is also very clever and can be adopted to seat five to seven people. That makes it very suitable for the European market, for which it was built in the first place, ans so does its on-demand all-wheel-drive system.

As for the design, there’s a re-shaped and sharply sculptured bonnet, a new larger grille and the Chevrolet ‘bow-tie’ sited proudly in the middle, prism style headlamps and integrated LED turn signals on the outside rearview mirrors. You also get new exterior colors, and accentuated wheel arches which will accommodate wheel sizes of 17 to 19 inches.

2011 Chevy Captiva comes with three new powerful engines that will come as standard with a new manual or automatic six-speed transmission. There’s a 2.4-litre dual overhead cam gasoline unit with variable valve timing, developing 171 hp, and two 2.2 litre common rail turbo-charged diesel units with 163 and 184 hp.

The passengers will be feeling very safe inside the Captiva as it comes with Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Traction Control System (TCS) and Braking Assist System (BAS) standard, as well as front-, side- and curtain airbags. As for the convenience, it features Hill Start Assist, eliminating “roll-back” on hills and an electric park brake that opens up space for further storage in the center console, including two 1-liter cup holders. There’s also a new audio system with Aux-in, USB-port and Bluetooth connectivity, and an optional touch-screen navigation system with rear view camera for parking assistance.

The new Captiva will be launched in Europe in Spring of 2011.
