At the 2010 Australian International Motor Show this October Mazda will unveil their all-new BT-50 pickup truck which they say overturns the conventional image of a compact pickup truck with modern and refined styling. They’ve even come up with a new name to make it more interesting, it’s “active lifestyle vehicle”. Cool, but that doesn’t change the fact that it is a pickup truck, and they are not lifestyley!
There’s of course not much details available yet, but Mazda says it will have a very athletic and individual design. It’ll be a head turner that the owners will look on with pride! The car’s developed from the ground up as a brand new type of vehicle. Besides great looks, strength and dependability, the all-new BT-50 provides the perfect solution for a wide range of customers who lead active lifestyles, including families, workers and pleasure seekers.
Apart form the land down under, Mazda has plans to sell it in Europe as well.
Another significant display at this year’s Australian International Motor Show is Mazda’s range of next-generation SKY Concept powertrains, which will be making their Australian debut. Mazda’s 2007 ‘Sustainable Zoom-Zoom’ commitment is to reduce overall average fuel economy levels by 30 percent by 2015 when compared with 2008 levels, and the Mazda SKY-G gasoline and SKY-D diesel engine concepts will play a significant part in achieving this ambitious target.
