This is the latest and fastest edition of Renault Megane, which will make its debut next week at the Nurburgring, called the RS 265 Trophy.

The fact the Renault chose the ‘Ring to reveal the car is a hint at its high-end sport capabilities. This Megane RS (RenaultSport) Trophy has 265 hp, hence the name, and 360Nm. It does 0-62mph in 6 seconds and has a top speed of 158 mph which makes one of the fastest hot hatches ever made.

The car is basically a tweaked version of the RS 250 Megane. It comes with the Cup chassis version and stiffer springs, dampers and anti-roll bar, mechanical limited slip differential, Brembo brakes and grooved brake discs, but unlike other fast Renault hatches like the R26, it’s not a stripped-out track car and comes with plenty of equipments like a proper hot hatch should. Some of the exlcusive features include Recaro seats with yellow seatbelts and detailing, Renaultsport Monitor on-board performance tracking and a UK numbered plaque. And it only has one optional extra, a Diamond Black roof at £415.

One of the new features of the car contributing greatly to its performance is the Formula 1-inspired high-performance Bridgestone Potenza RE050A. They have outer part similar to racing ‘slicks’, while the inner section is modeled on F1 wet-weather tyres. They come wrapped around gloss black 19″ Speedline alloys with red rim.

Visually the car features some Trophy and Renaultsport badges and can be ordered in either the amazing Liquid Yellow or Black Metallic. Renault Megane RS 256 is limited to 500 units, of which 50 is slated for the British market, where it’ll cost £27,820 when it goes on sale in July.
