Honda’s in-house tuner Mugen announced a new 2.2 version of its rare Civic Type-R with more umph and joie de vivre.
The handywork of Northampton-based MUGEN Euro delivers 260PS instead of 240 and 240 Nm of torque which is 30 percent more than the standard. This car is a sort of tribute to the highly successful Honda K20 2.0-litre petrol engine which has gone out of production in Japan.
The faith for Mugen Tye-R 2.2, which also features sports suspension, uprated brakes and a stunning performance bodykit, is yet to be decided. But Mugen might offer the last four of the 2010 limited edition whcih was produced in a limited run of 20 units with this treatment.
They would either do this, or invite the current owners of the Mugen Civic Type-R to come and get the engine tuning package.
