After the Colorado, Chevrolet decided to bring another one of its ‘Global’ products to the U.S. This time it’s the Spark city car which will go on sale in American and Canada from 2012.
Currently on sale in Europe, Korea, India, Mexico, South America and Australia, Chevy Spark will make its U.S debut at Los Angeles International Auto Show in November. The car is really compact and is about 14 inches shorter than the recently launched Chevrolet Sonic. That said, it is 4 inches longer than Fiat 500.
The American Spark will be powered by a 1.2L four-cylinder engine that delivers 83 horsepower (61 kW) and can be had with either a five-speed manual or an automatic transmission.
Available packages include uplevel features such as color touch screen radio; Chevrolet MyLink infotainment connectivity with Pandora and Stitcher internet radio; Bluetooth; exterior enhancements such as chrome accents; heated leatherette seats and alloy wheels. The car’s biggest selling point however, is its funky design which makes it a proper rival for the cutesy Fiat 500.
