Just as the new XKR-S Convertible prepares for its Los Angeles debut, Jaguar reveals its official pictures and details.

The new cat will make its world premiere in America, but only 25 units of it is allocated for that market.

The Convertible kinda solves what was wrong with the Jaguar XKR-S Coupe. The coupe is hardened, unforgiving version of the XKR which is not fast enough to challenge the likes of Aston Martin, and not comfortable enough to even rival Maserati in this class.

Now with the roof gone all that obsession with speed vanishes into the air and the Jag turns into a lavish cruiser. Just sit back and enjoy the amazing soundtrack of that V8!

Speaking of which, that V8 Supercharged AJ-V8 GENIII petrol engine produces 550PS (405kW) and 502lb/ft (680Nm). The Convertible is still plenty fast with a top speed 186mph (300km/h) and 0-60mph in 4.2 seconds (0-100km/h in 4.4 seconds). The car also features the latest Adaptive this and electronic that for superb handling.

It also inherits XK’s natural talent for doing massive powerslides. The car rides on 20-inch wheels with Pirelli P-Zero tyres (255/35 ZR20 at the front and 295/30 ZR20 at the rear).

The Convertible gets a similar aerodynamic body kit like the Coupe, with carbon splitter and rear wing, and also an interior full of leather, suede and carbon fiber. The 16-way adjustable, heated seats feature highlights of carbon leather and contrast micropiping unique to the model. An exclusive dark aluminium finish is available as standard with an optional Piano Black finish also available.

Jaguar XKR-S Convertible goes on sale early next year with an estimated price of £103,000 in the UK.
