Renault UK dropped pricing details and specification for the entire 2012 Megane range going on sale in the country in April. The range mainly comprises of three Coupé, Hatch and Sport Tourer variants, all featuring new styling updates including LED daytime running lights, gloss black finish to bumper with chrome highlights, and new selection of alloy wheels. There’s also two new colours available: Azzurro Blue and Arctic White.
As for the engines, three new power trains are offered for 2012, all with Stop & Start. The lineup include 1.2 TCe 115 petrol, 1.5 dCi 110 and 1.6 dCi 130.
The 1.2 TCe 115 offers diesel-rivalling 53.3 mpg (combined cycle) and 119g/km CO2, 1.5 dCi 110 gives offers class-leading 80.7 mpg and emits only 90 g/km CO2– the lowest of any C-segment diesel on sale today. 1.6 dCi 130, the world’s most powerful and frugal diesel engine of its size, provides 70.6 mpg and 104 g/km CO2. 1.4 TCe 130 and 2.0 TCe 180 removed from the range.
In terms of equipments, there’s a new entry-level Expression+ with items like Bluetooth, USB connection and upgraded audio system to 4 x 20W radio CD with fingertip remote control and AUX input, plus 16” alloys, air conditioning and front fog lights. So not that basic after all. If you want a loaded Megane though you should get the top-of-the-range GT-Line TomTom. That one sees the addition of auto parking brake with Hill Start Assist, parking camera with rear parking sensors, Arkamys 3D Sound 4x35W audio system.
Technology features you can order for the car include some nice items like the the Visio System with ane departure warning system and automatic high/low beam headlights, and parking assist.
