As you know after the 407, Peugeot launched the 508 saloon in the European market. If you were wondering what happened to the 408 then, here it is. The 408 is actually designed based on the 307 for the Russian market, where it will also be made,  at the PCMA RUS production facilities in the Kaluga region. Peugeot also has tailor-made models for the Middle East and South America.

Now, a Peugeot 307 with a boot attached to it might not go down well in Europe, but in Russia they view it as an upmarket  C-Segment car. They have tweaked and basically redeveloped the car based on Russian market specific needs and road specificities. Also, the 408 underwent profound climate adaptation through repeated testing in the Urals and beyond the Arctic Circle to ensure its ability to withstand harsh weather conditions.

Peugeot 408 is also well-equipped compared to the usual C-segment cars with stuff like climate control and sat nav.
