Hennessey’s new Venom GT Spyder gets rockstar endorsement as Steven Tyler, Aerosmith frontman and American Idol presenter, is about to take delivery of one. John Hennessey himself has been working on this particular Venom Spyder to get it ready, so it can be delivered to Steven in time for the American Idol finale.

Not sure if Steven has actually paid for the car, or it’s just one of John Hennessey’s tricks – after all, he does not enjoy great reputation as a completely honest man – but the cost of a Venom GT Spyder is $1.1 million.

The Venom, as you may know, is based on a Lotus chassis and powered by a 6.2L twin turbo V-8 engine producing an amazing 1,200 bhp and 1,155 lb-ft of torque. They also make 800 and 1000 bhp versions. In the full-fat 1,200 hp version, this super car can go from 0 to 60mph in 2.5 second. Hennessy also claims a top speed of 275 mph (443 km/h). Steven’s car is also fitted with a  JL audio system, powerful enough to beat the mighty engine noise the Venom makes.

“This past week I had to choose between building a 10 or 9 second ZL1 or to finish Steven Tyler’s Venom GT Spyder in time for the American Idol finale. Steven won and so did LPE on their race to the 10’s.” Said John Hennessey in an interview with Inside Line.
