ZR1 pace car at Ryan Briscoe Tests Corvette ZR1 Indy 500 Pace Car

Before handing the 2013 Corvette ZR1 pace car to Guy Fieri, the celebrity chef chosen as the pace car driver for this year’s Indy 500 race, the Pole sitter Ryan Briscoe takes the car around the Indianapolis. This is of course part of the publicity effort in build up to the event, but Ryan is going to follow this car on the parade lap before the green flag drops and 2012 Indy 500 begins. So it’s all kinda relevant.

The ZR1 Pace Car is a 2013 modelyear, which celebrates both the 60th anniversary of America’s first proper sports car, and also the last year of production for this generation Corvette. It comes with the 60th anniversary pacakge, consisting of Arctic White exterior with a Blue Diamond leather-wrapped interior with suede accents, among other stuff.

Engine-wise, it’s got a 638 horsepower supercharged V8 that takes it from 0 to 60mph in just 3.4 seconds, on to a top speed of 205.
