2012 Goodwood Festival of Speed Gets Its Own App

2012 Goodwood Festival of Speed at 2012 Goodwood Festival of Speed Gets Its Own App

To help visitors have a richer experience visiting the 2012 Goodwood FoS, the show’s partner Auto Trader announced launch of a new free application featuring live news updates, a detailed map of the event site, plus a customizable event calendar to remind users when key events are about to commence. A cool feature of the app is a racing game with augmented reality technology.

The game, which features the famous 1.16-mile Goodwood hillclimb course, will let users drive a variety of Lotus racing and sports cars up the hill and has support for up to four players across different devices, and feature 3D graphics. You can play the game wherever you want, but if you visit Autotrader’s stand and play there you may have the chance to win a new Alfa Romeo MiTo Quadrifoglio Verde, as well as a number of other exciting competitions before the Festival weekend.

The app also has a feature that lets you stalk your favorite motorsport personality, with the live Twitter tracker, which shows the location of geo-tagged tweets. Is that even legal?!

The app is available to download free of charge for iPhone (3GS and above) iPod Touch and iPad (second generation and above).
