Chrysler’s brand for pickup trucks, Ram, announced official fuel economy figures for the 2013 1500 model. Thanks to the simply brilliant 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6 engine, this large truck is capable of doing 18 city 25 highway, which is better than most SUVs and on the par with some family sedans. And don’t think they’ve compromised on power.

This V6 unit pumps out a vert respectable 305 horsepower, 269 lb.-ft. of torque. If you want more power you can go for the larger 5.7 liter HEMI V8 engine. That one will give you access to 395 horsepower, 407 lb.-ft. of torque, but won’t be as economical as the Pentastar.

The V6 model comes with a standard eight-speed automatic transmission with some innovative features such as thermal management system that is designed to quickly raise engine and transmission fluid temperatures.Ram 1500 is also blessed with a start/stop system featuring heavy duty components. The engine restarts automatically when the driver releases the brake, allowing seamless acceleration.

Prices for the 2013 Ram 1500 start at $23,585, including $995 destination charge.
