Aviator Collection is the name of the new special edition series of the Phantom Coupe Rolls Royce will be revealing at the Pebble Beach Concours. Rolls Royce is of course no stranger to the world of aviation, as they used to make aircraft engines back in the day. This limited edition of just 35 units celebrates that and the endeavors of Charles Stewart Rolls, one of the company’s founders.

The Monterey-bound Aviator Grey Phantom Coupe features a contrasting matt bonnet, window and grille surround while inside it has a cockpit-like feel with lots of wood and metal, plus a Thommen, aviation-grade clock with blood orange needle tips, and matt black dials for power reserve, speedometer and fuel gauges. It also has leather floor mats and highly polished aluminium designer cup holders!

And you get to enjoy all this, as the Phantom Coupe is a Rolls Royce that is meant to be driven by the owner.

As with every Roller, the attention to details in this car boggles the mind. The lower fascia of the cabin is veneered in mahogany, painstakingly shaped by craftspeople the way propellers used to be made. It also features polished stainless steel veneer ‘onlays’ with bullet-shaped ends designed to match floor mat fixings.

A very cool feature of the car is to be found inside the leather-lined glove compartment, which includes includes an embossed Charles Rolls quote following his first flight with the Wright Brothers in 1908: “The power of flight is as a fresh gift from the Creator, the greatest treasure yet given to man.” There is also a centre console chrome plaque paying homage to the man, featuring his sweeping signature.

This is possibly the coolest car Rolls-Royce has ever made.
