Honda releases the first image of the new facelifted CR-Z hybrid sports coupe ahead of its official unveiling at the Paris Motor Show. And finally the car is getting more power, although Honda doesn’t say how much more yet. They just say that power of both the petrol engine and the electric motor have been increased without compromising the excellent fuel efficiency.
The current CR-Z has about 120 horsepower. We hope the new has at least 200. Any less than that, and it wouldn’t make that big a difference. In fact, it should have 200 hp, because as we know the Toyota GT86 has that much. The CR-Z can then rival it and boast its greater fuel economy against the GT86’s better driving experience.
The new CR-Z also gets a slightly tweaked exterior with new LEd lights and revised bumpers, and an upgraded interior.
Besides the CR-Z, Honda is also bringing a new version of the Civic powered by an Earth Dream 1.6-liter i-DTEC diesel engine. It makes 120 hp, and returns an incredible 3.6L/100km (78 mpg). The EV-STER electric sports car will also be there.
